Just had that, onion rings and mushrooms in place of sausage and burger.

Lovely tea!

Fried bacon with chopped mushrooms, onion, red peppers and tomatoes, add white wine pepper corns and chopped garlic. Usually add cream for the final minute, but I had none.
Had it with pasta shells, but it's better with chips.

Less than 15 minutes ...my kind of cooking.

Last night I had extra large haddock in batter, with roasted peppers and dauphinoise potatoes that I made myself. The peppers are split and stuffed with basil, garlic and tomatoes then baked until they go soft and caramalised. They are low cal and the best food ever.

 Sounds really tasty.

Tonight I am roasting thick pork chops in the oven...serve them with a mixed salad...rocket, onions, grapes, peppers and tomatoes, mix in virgin  olive oil and balsamic glaze (nicer than the vinegar)

I eat healthy...but add some bread and wine to every evening meal...maybe not so healthy, but I can't resist either.

Flax seed is good for you, which reminds me that I'm out.

The only way I consume wheat anymore is in a few alcoholic beverages.

I still drink too many of those, but i stopped drinking at home.

I've packed wheat in when it becomes white flour or as best I can.

I still have a pizza once a month or less.

My main drink these days is whisky but I do have a four pack occasionally or a bottle of red.

Whisky believe it or not is one of the healthiest alcoholic drinks going.

Most breakfast cereals are out but I'm not obsessive about any of it.

Real whole wheat is rarer than people realise.

Whole Wheat bread mostly isn't because if it was it would be near impossible to have sliced in such a manner as to make sandwiches.

Shredded wheat is about the best whole wheat going these days as far as supermarket stuff goes.

Sugar is another thing almost gone and replaced with dates or honey.

 I'm not a zealot either.

I just try to avoid things with a high glycemic load.

Funny innit but I don't think it's just an age thing more a grandad thing!

Our grandchildren are so beautiful and become so important we want to hang around a little longer to be with them and the mistakes we made with our own kids...
