 Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh has left him devastated after filing to change her name officially to Shiloh Jolie – on her 18th birthday.

That the first thing she did as an adult was to officially drop the Pitt name means that any hopes Brad has of a reconciliation with his oldest biological daughter now look like wishful thinking.

'Now that Shiloh is 18, she can make up her own mind as far as how she wants her relationship with her father to develop,' a source close to the star said this week.

The source went on to say that since the couple split, Angelina has made sure their children have had 'limited involvement' with their father.

'It is still that way with the underage ones, but with Shiloh that is no longer Angie's choice,' they continued. 'If Shiloh chooses to have limited contact with her dad, that is her decision.'

The source added that Brad would still 'love her unconditionally,' no matter what she chose to do.

'This is the result of textbook parental alienation, and it is a great sadness in his life,' I am told.

'There have been years and years of her [Angelina] telling and retelling the same lies about him and the reality is that she has alienated the kids, and the reality is that it is upsetting to Brad. He cares about all of them. It is devastating.'

At home there were no rules, except that the children weren't encouraged to make friends outside of the family circle – and they ruled the roost.

One former nanny, who quit in despair, reportedly said that the children insisted on breakfasting on items like pizza or chocolate, and enjoyed a diet of junk food, particularly the cheesy corn snack Cheetos.

As the troubled marriage entered its final year, Angelina's brother James moved in with the couple, having been hired as the chief nanny.

Then came that shattering – and disputed – incident on a plane. In legal documents, Angelina said that Brad hit and choked the children as well as attacking her, and punching the roof of the plane when drunk.

A lawyer for Brad said he had accepted responsibility for some things in his past but that he would not accept responsibility for things he did not do. Another source close to the actor dismissed Angelina's account as 'bulls***' and claimed her story was 'constantly evolving'.

The source added: 'She continues to rehash, revise and reimagine her description of an event that happened six years ago by adding completely untrue information each time she fails to get what she wants.'

Sources in the Brad camp described the release of the information as a 'media stunt to inflict pain.'

Last year, an Instagram post in which Pax called Brad Pitt a 'f***ing awful human being' was made public.

In it, Pax wrote of his father: 'You time and time again prove yourself to be a terrible and despicable person. You have no consideration or empathy toward your four youngest children who tremble in fear when in your presence.

'You will never understand the damage you have done to my family because you're incapable of doing so.'

One friend of Brad's called the publication 'sad and frustrating' but added: '[He] would only ever respect the kids' voices. He will never ever speak negatively about any of them and will almost never talk about them in public. There is no question that he would hit back at them.'

He treated Jennifer Aniston, his wife when he met Jolie, really badly.
Aniston said at the time, he lacked an empathy gene, the way he flaunted his affair with Jolie.

What goes round comes around. Unfortunately for him, he left a lovely woman for one who seems a bit mad.

One of millions of men who ruin their marriage and sometimes their lives by being led by their dick.

I remember at the time there were stories of hotel workers reporting animal noises coming from their bedrooms when they were having their little trysts.
Maybe Angelina likes dressing up as a pig...who knows.

I always thought she was really beautiful when she was younger, now she looks hard and skeletal.
Jennifer still looks lovely.

 I seem to recall Aniston wanted kids and he didn't.  Then he leaves her and has kids with Jolie.   What a fucking insult.

 Every time I looked at her I thought she's not firing on all pistons.   There's something slightly off kilter about her.   Can't put my finger on it.  No insanity but something weird.

Snogging her brother, exchanging phials of blood as a wedding present when she married equally weird Billy Bob Thornton, looking like a spaced out barbie doll when she was younger, then after meeting Pitt, adopting and having loads of kids in a short space of time.
She also, as a preventative measure against developing cancer, had a hysterectomy and both breasts off ... bit drastic, but the publicity she got for that no doubt softened the blow.
She comes across as manipulative and hard, he comes across as someone who was led around by the nose...it was bound to end badly.

Actors are often a little weird to begin with. Put them in that weird Hollywood environment and isolate them from the rest of society, throw in a bunch of money and they get very weird.

And worse, they raise fucked up kids. I'd love to see the stats on addiction, suicide and emotional problems for the nepo babies of Hollywood. Bet it's higher than the general public in spite of all of their privilege.

 In fairness, I think having a double mastectomy and hysterectomy was wise of her.

 

Jolie underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning she had an 87% risk of developing breast cancer due to a defective BRCA1 gene.[250] Her maternal family history warranted genetic testing for BRCA mutations: her mother had breast cancer and died of ovarian cancer, while her grandmother died of ovarian cancer.[251][252] Her aunt, who had the same BRCA1 defect, died of breast cancer three months after Jolie's operation.[253] Following the mastectomy, which lowered her chances of developing breast cancer to under five percent, Jolie had reconstructive surgery involving implants and allografts (transplantations from a donor).[251] Two years later, in March 2015, after annual test results indicated possible signs of early ovarian cancer, she underwent a preventive salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of an ovary and its fallopian tube), as she had a fifty percent risk of developing ovarian cancer due to the same genetic anomaly. Despite hormone replacement therapy, the surgery brought on premature menopause.

I can understand the hysterectomy as she already had signs of ovarian cancer.
Personally, I think regular checks instead of total removal of breasts would have been less drastic....but it was her choice.

Something like 50 percent of women with that faulty gene have a double mastectomy.   I don't blame them.

 I know a girl that had a mastectomy in her late 30s because breast cancer was so rampant in her family. Don't know about her genes. She also ended up with bigger boobs then she had before. I've never seen them, so I can't attest to how they look. 

 

Outside of the risk with any surgery, it seems like a win for her..

No one want to get cancer, so maybe they are wise to jump the gun.

I think one would have to be in that situation before a decision was made.

 I'll admit, I thought it was a little crazy at first.

 

My general thought was not to mess with these things until needed, but we are getting to the point where we can predict cancer pretty well, while we still are not that great at defeating it. 

 

An ounce of prevention over a pound of cure and all of that I guess..
