If a £12,000 watch was stolen, stolen from who, and where is it now? If Jay was told a bus came along the road he was on to lead him back into Los Cristianas, why was he miles away up a bloody mountain, in terrain impossible to negotiate unless one is experienced and fully equipped? And why, if the police had searched this area weeks ago, was he found in the same place a month after disappearing.
If you were on the run from someone, would you take the main road? Nope.
It's not a main road like we have. It's a cross between a dirt track and an A road. I doubt anyone with a brain would be scaling mountains to get away from someone.
The road was tarmac, so perhaps he felt vulnerable to passing traffic if someone was searching for him, or perhaps he just got paranoid after he stole some gangsters £12K rolex? He might have thought they'd search for him in a vehicle, so he got off the road. Who knows? The kid was a wannabe gangster who indulged in crime and battery. Drugs make you paranoid.
I think if his family are satisfied with the way the case has been handled, they should quietly get on with taking Jay home and dealing with the horrible aftermath his actions have caused.
For Jays mother to carry on asking for donations, so her boy can have "the funeral he deserves”....is abusing the kindness of strangers, imo.
... last seen by a cafe owner, who said the teenager had asked her about bus times before deciding not to wait two hours for a service ... she saw Mr Slater “walking away fast” out of the village ...
Around 8.15am on Monday, he called his friend Lucy Law to tell her he was lost, needed a drink of water and that he had one per cent battery left on his phone.
“He’s ended up out in the middle of nowhere. Jay was obviously thinking he would be able to get home from there,” Ms Law said. ... "he ended up in the middle of mountains with nothing around.”
He also phoned his friend Brad Hargreaves, who heard him “sliding” over gravel ...
No case to answer. He got lost and karma found him. No-one else involved. No murder, no two thugs suddenly appearing from nowhere, grabbing him by the ankles and wrists and launching him into the unknown, and then disappearing. Hope this doesn't spawn conspiracy theories. What it should produce is a biography of a thug and how the BBC turned him into a happy go lucky cheeky chappy and all round good egg in order to justify their one month long jolly to Tenerife.

I don't agree....or more to the point, I just cannot imagine how anyone would start walking up a bloody mountain that leads nowhere, when he was trying to get back down to where all the action was.

I agree in theory, but I don't think he died how they said tbh.
What I don't see is there is £60,000 in the gofundme, and his greedy.mum is asking for more. I hope no one gives it. Greedy woman!

This is what his mum wrote...
As the donations pour in, questions have been raised about what the money will be used for.
But Jay Slater’s mother Debbie Duncan, 55, has now said the funds will go towards giving her son the “send-off” he deserves and bringing him home.
She said: “Hello everyone, thank you for all of your kindness, support and condolences in light of the tragic news that Jay’s body has been found. We are overwhelmed with grief and are so grateful for your support.
“The wonderful team from The Netherlands, Signi Zoekhondon, have remained in Spain all week and have continued to support us since Jay was found. They are due to fly home in the coming days and we are so appreciative of their dedication and support.
“We would like to thank LBT Global for their support during this impossible time.
“We are working with agencies to arrange Jay’s repatriation to the UK and the remaining funds, along with any future donations will be used to help with this if needed and to pay for Jay’s funeral costs back home. We want to give our boy the send-off he deserves so please do continue to share and support our fundraiser however you can.”
Apparently he's being flown home in the next few days.
The family were advised about seeing him due to the fact he was out in the sun for so long but have taken comfort in the fact he probably died instantly.
