The police have got to be more forthcoming with information, the same as last weeks Manchester airport fiasco, silence inflames horrible situations.
We don't know if the stabber is even Muslim, his parents are from Rwanda, a predominantly Christian country...targetting a random mosque isn't the answer.

This isn't even about these kids. Those deaths are just the catalyst. Unrest has been festering for a long long time. Anyway, the riot tonight was triggered by the arrest of a muslim knifeman near the vigil site. That was the final straw and everyone headed for the mosque to protest.

The riots were triggered by false info being circulated yesterday, naming a Muslim asylum seeker as the stabber.

The police issued a statement declaring the stabber was born in Cardiff.

Too late to stop the organised nutters gathering, as was seen tonight.

Oh and Labour wanted to give sixteen year olds the vote so they obviously regard them as adults at that age but this seventeen year old is being protected by the law and not being named because he's under eighteen.

I don't think so. Southport is a very close knit community, everyone knows everyone else. That mob last night were out of town. The people came together this morning to clean up the streets.

The people who are clearing up are the ones who are grieving....the massacre of those children was just an opportunity for thugs to divide a community still deep in shock.

She talks a lot of sense.

Her saying different groups are dividing the country is spot on. Unfortunately the authorities here are granting those minority groups more rights and giving them more power.

She also says "multiculturalism needs managing'....but it hasn't been managed here for years.

Maybe a start would be to crack down on hate speech....from both sides. There are schools and places of worship that are well known to be preaching hate...and it's rife on the internet.

Police have powers, it's about time they used them.

She almost sounds American, ot someone who has lived here..

What she is talking about is what we call the 'melting pot'..

We had to do it because we are country mostly of immigrants. It doesn't always work and there's been issues over immigration. But if you don't at least try to force people to assimilate, they wont.

It has to be the goal before it will begin to be a reality.

In all honesty, most immigrants, never assimilate well. But in my experience their children do.

His parents are reported to be in hiding not surprising given details and even photos of them were all over the media days ago.

What can make a 17 year old boy hate so much, that they can apparently plan and carry out such a horrific act?

No kid goes from 'normal' to pure evil overnight....there are always warning signs.

The picture I have seen must have been taken years ago, he looks about 10 years old.
He is 18 in six days time, one of the reasons the judge decided to name him....that and public pressure.
