Good song though. wink

 

I have a quiz question (not here, too easy to google) about who sang the song Alfie in the film Alfie....nearly everyone thinks it's Cilla.

 Dionne Warwick did sing it, and she was mad that Cilla had the more popular version here than she did.

But it was Cher that sang the song in the film starring Micheal Caine.

I was surprised to learn how prolific a songwriter Paul Williams is.   Wrote for so many famous singers including Daft Punk.

I love this song too.

 Bacharach and David wrote the song Alfie.

Cilla only agreed to record it if Burt Bacharach played the piano when she was recording it. He made her do the recording over and over again till he was satisfied she had it spot on, and it is a brilliant version.

I did like her version of 'Alfie' and 'You're my world'. But the way her soft voice would suddenly turn into a grating sound... it wasn't very pleasant.

 I liked You're my World and I bought Anyone who had a heart.  I was young lol.  Yes her grating sound was horrible after the soft start.  Awful.
