I met my love by the gas works wall
Dreamed a dream by the old canal
I kissed my girl by the factory wall

Dirty old town
Dirty old town

Clouds are drifting across the moon
Cats are prowling on their beat
Spring's a girl from the streets at night

So the town got less dirty when you left? 😉

 It was the gasworks in Salford, once a very industrial town.

I will post pics of what it looks like now, tomorrow....I left when I was 25....it took a while to get itself together.wink

Salford's mostly very modern now... I'll see if I can find a good drone vid if Syl can't.

Yes, post yours Jack, the others you have posted have been good.

 

This is 5 minutes walk from where I lived...the oldSalford Docks, where the labour exchange was, dirty scruffy area, a bit dicey to be there at night...now it's Salford Quays, BBC and ITV studios are there, theatres, shopping, events, cafe's, restaurants etc..a great place to be.
