Too much too soon. He first tried to get on the X factor when he was 14, just a young kid.
A couple of years later he applied again, and was placed in a band, and then I suppose his life changed completely.
It's sad, he has talked about his mental health problems and committing suicide before, and though its not been confirmed how he fell yet, drugs, booze and mental health problems in a young man are not a good mix.

RIP Liam Payne.
It's a dreadful tragedy for sure. The papers are saying he couldn't cope with fatherhood at 23. 23? Young men were giving their lives at 23 and younger in two world wars, and when you have kids you have to grow up, FFS and stop thinking about yourself.
From what I see, there is a lot of mental soul searching amongst the young now. Not all obviously, but some young men (especially) seem to have lost that 'get on with it' attitude, they tend to analyze everything.
I also think the internet hasn't helped, it's a lot easier now to detach yourself from the real world and wallow.

It's all this woe is me attitude. Playing on their mental health, instead of getting up and getting on with life. Society has turned them into softies. The real people with mental health issues get on with it.
They could never fight in wars, as they did in both world wars, do heavy labour jobs, make decisions, because they blame everyone and everything on their mental health!
Mental illness was hardly recognised a few generations ago. Look at what the men in the wars saw, they just came back home and got on with life.
I'm sure many suffered from PTS, but it wasn't even recognised back then.
Someone like Liam Payne probably did have a lot of stress, his life was very different to the norm. I think being plucked from nowhere and cast into the worlds spotlight, all that fame, adoration, money, and the trappings that so many get sucked into, if someone doesn't have a steadying influence like a loving family behind them, it can be disastrous.
Yes thousands did and do suffer PTSD. Them I feel so very sorry for. For girls raped, boys raped, beaten, horrific injuries from acid thrown, all those nightmares.
I don't feel sorry for a boy who wanted and got fame, money, adoration then went to booze and drugs. Smashed his hotel up before falling. Nah!

You know what? He wasn't that talented. Perhaps that was part of his unhappiness. A dead giveaway was the story of how he seemed desperate to be recognised in public and that party where he went over to P Diddy and Leonardo DiCaprio to introduce himself and they were like "who the hell are you?"
That's the sorry fact of a lot of these people who go off the rails. He was part of a manufactured product designed to make money. As a stand alone artist he was never going to fill stadiums. I know a lot of really famous and talented people have also gone down that route, but they will all leave their mark on the music industry and were universally respected for their talent. A generation from now who will even know this guy's name never mind his songs. By all accounts he was a lovely person, and that makes it all the more tragic. But he had choices. We all do. And if you consistently make the wrong ones and destroy yourself in the process then that's down to you and nothing else. He had help. He had family. He had friends. He had a son. He had money. Some people never have any of those things and still overcome challenges.
Yes, he had all that, and obviously he still couldn't cope.
Some people can, some can't...look at William and Harry, both incredibly privileged, Harry more than William, because he had all the perks and none of the restraints.
I always thought, from the beginning Liam Payne looked like he didn't fit in with that group, he seemed to be the odd one out, always on the edge.
I imagine when they split, and Harry Styles made such a success of his career, it could have intensified a feeling of not being good enough....who knows.

I'm sure that had something to do with it. Being so young when propelled into the limelight, there going to be high personal expectations along with perhaps impossible goals. How many mediocre bands and performers end up playing small working men's clubs in the twilight of their careers before fading away completely? As the saying goes, One day you're cock of the walk, the next you're a feather duster.
In response to Magica if you can't feel an ounce of sympathy for the man for no longer being with us because he was an imperfect victim then you should feel no empathy when anyone passes. we all have flawed natures, none of us are perfect. possibly you could feel a crumb of sympathy for his seven yo son who will never see his dad again. There is too much judgement in this world. if ppl were a little more empathetic 4 their fellow man and embrace the adage ' to err is human ' i suspect less tragedies would occur.

I have plenty of empathy, but not for someone who had it all and threw it away. He should have thought of his boy before his drunk, drugged lifestyle.

Imagine the horror of browsing through the internet as an impressionable teenager and bingo! There's photos of your granny's minge on the archives of HamsterXXX and TwatRus? And all because granny was imperfect and made mistakes. I mean you'd be traumatized would you not?
