 That thousand pound phone probably costs  next to nothing to make.   Apple and companies like it are robbers.  All their products are vastly inflated and not that good.  So, why not make the fuckers give the jobs to Americans and take a slash in their exploitative profits.  

 The iphone 15 pro, to take an example, costs $558 to make which you might think is next to nothing but in reality it's a fairly hefty sum. The phone sells for around 1000 dollars which is around 100% markup and that's not really over inflated as it's quite normal to sell a product for twice what it costs to make it.

Not sure what you mean about the product not being that good - I think what these phones can do is pretty amazing; my own experience with iphones is that they're reliable, although maybe I've been lucky and your own experience has been different.

 

 Their computers don't last compared to other makes.   I've had several Apple computers, and swore I'd use nothing else because the OS is great  but they lasted a few years then broke.   After 4 or 5 laptops, I threw in the towel.   The phone batteries are crap.

I only used Apple and the i phone as an example to simplify a hugely complex issue regarding trying to bring manufacturing back to America.
Whether Trump likes it or not China is now the factory of the world.
I'm old enough to remember when everyone everywhere wanted to see made in England stamped on their goods.
It won't be coming home.

The woman on the left seems to speak for a lot of women, based on the graph on the right.


For the record, Hillary and Trump basically split white women 50-50, 8 years ago.

Kamala lost them..

A lot of women aren't buying into this nonsense they are being oppressed and men are evil.

I’m generally done with predicting ANY outcome amid the batshit quagmire of American politics. But I’ll give it one last shot today - Shitler won’t serve a full term. (imo) It won’t be too long before his diapered arse gets 25A-ed and Musk’s boy JD will get an upgrade.

I am a little worried about us becoming more of an oligarchy, like Russia. But our constitution is a pretty revered document. I don't see something crazy like a 3rd Trump term, or handing the reins over to one of his sons..

 

Musk and others have been a target in part because of their antics, but also in part because they won't shut up and fall in line. X is problematic for any government that is used to having some control over what is being said. There's a reason you can't use it in China..

 

As Bill Maher said months ago, "I'm generally on Elon's side, but he makes it difficult at times"..

Yeah, Musk is unparalleled on all the space stuff, but he’s a coke and ketamine-addled wrecking ball in every other aspect! Musk and Thiel are not US-born citizens, so are ineligible to run for the presidency. The next best thing for these megalomaniacs is to ’buy’ themselves a shadow presidency, via an easily corruptible and transactional useful idiot like trump. 

I sense trump is rapidly outliving his usefulness. I believe the plan all along has been to bin him (if he doesn’t croak first), and then install their boy. That’s why I don’t see trump serving a full term.

Time will tell, I guess … dunno 

(oh yeah, and lotsa luck with his friggin Tariffs! I’d love to know the price hike on your imported chia seeds, after he slaps a 50% tariff on them wink)

It's been very amusing watching the luvvies all have a melt down.   How humiliating for them after all the narcissistic lobbying,  pearl clutching and self aggrandizing Kamala promoting shite they've been chucking around for months.  

In the end, their opinions didn't matter which highlights better than anything how disconnected they are from the reality of life for the majority of Americans.

 There was a time, not that long ago, when celebrities were ridiculed for giving their opinions on political matters. Now they actively get involved, even when I doubt some of them know the first thing about what or who they are supporting.

People like Taylor Swift for eg, she can influence millions of people just by posing next to someone or bad mouthing someone else. They were all out in force over the last few months, it didn't really help Kamala this time round though.
