" MasterChef host Gregg Wallace has issued a lengthy apology for his remarks on the show, after he was sacked from the BBC show following allegations of misconduct.

The former greengrocer, 61, was dropped following a report which upheld more than 40 allegations relating to his behaviour while filming the hit cooking show.

At the time, Gregg hit back at the allegations, instead blaming the complaints on 'middle-class women of a certain age,' and is now suing the BBC for £10,000 in damages.

However, Gregg has now taken to Substack to pen a 1,000 word admission, where he confessed he was 'stupid,' but noted the innuendos on MasterChef were 'no worse' than those on The Great British Bake Off.

He went on to add that he feels he was a victim of changing attitudes, and claimed he'd been 'rewarded' for using his 'colourful' language in the past."

There was a loud, vocal minority of women who called her a racist and wanted to cancel her.

I'm not saying he did or he didn't. I hate to not believe women, but I just don't trust these long delayed accusations..

You're not the only one of course. If you look at the start of this thread, all the women here had that opinion too.

True, but since then more and more women have come forwards, citing more recent behaviour and with more serious allegations.

I stand by what I said, if a man made a remark or joke that offended years ago, it should have been sorted there and then.. Women are not forever the victims, and it annoys me when they play the part of the wilting violet.

Touching and exposing himself is very different. He obviously overstepped the mark on more than one occasion. The BBC and others have found once more to be protecting their own....till it becomes too close even for their comfort.
