I'm not sure if the mods will allow this but a friend emailed me a Reddit link with info of those charged.

I can't say I'm shocked to read of convictions of rape/stalking/child pornography...

I hope their sentences are made longer. They deserve life imo 😡

While this will not necessarily result in harsher sentences, the trial's huge resonance and media coverage may mean the jury ends up being less lenient than the judges. Fingers crossed Joe Public dishes out real sentences. Unfortunately what they deserve and what they got/get don't often tally.

I hope the authorities are actively looking for ...about 20 individuals (who) were never identified and are believed to be still at large."

One deviant  "was appealing the guilty verdict as "there was no criminal intention on his part"...how anyone can have sex with an unconscious woman and not see it as rape says a lot about the bloke.

Rape is rape.  She was unconscious as you say anon, so never agreed to sex.  These dirty bastards have no excuses.

How some wives are sticking by them is beyond belief.

How many of these supportive wives unknowingly went through the same thing? One of the rapists confessed to drugging his own wife in the same manner and "allowing"  Pelicot to rape her several times...she only found out when she woke up mid-assault. We'll never know the full extent of victims I guess and how many of these supportive partners are going to spend the rest of their lives wondering.

These "men" trying to justify their abhorrent actions with pathetic excuses are truly insulting.

Everyone who took part, even knew about this, are scum.
As for some of the wives sticking by their husbands, culture, threats, blind stupidity, lack of any empathy towards fellow human beings...who knows why they have?
