I binge watched the last series of "Squid Games" and it as a bit disappointing. I won't add any spoilers but I think an American spin off is on the cards, hardly surprising since it's Netflix's most popular series.
The second series was brilliant,a little more blood thirsty than the first but that wasn't necessarily a negative thing. I had really warmed to the characters. I think the final series has to be watched if you have seen the previous two but the writers didn't seem to know how to end all the various storylines in a satisfying way. The first series was unique and brilliant so it was always going to be difficult to rival the quality of that.

I loved the first series of Squid Games, it was so original and imaginative.
I also liked the real Squid games series....obviously the contestants didn't get killed off, it was still entertaining.
The last series, I tried to get into it, but gave up after a couple of episodes.
Agree it was a disappointment in comparison to the first series. I don't think there is much appetite for an American series either. The magic was in the originality of the concept. But Netflix just can't resist cashing in.

Just finished watching the second series of The couple next door on Ch4....also can watch the full series on catch up.
The first series was good...the 2nd, different characters apart from the pervy neighbour, it's full of obviously titillating ménage a trois scenes between the three main characters.
Watched the first 3 episodes of The Assassin with Keeley Hawes playing a retired hitwoman living in Greece, whose dopey son pays her a visit. Very strong Killing Eve vibes for anyone who enjoyed that show.
Catching up with The White Lotus, albeit out of sequence, and am thoroughly enjoying season 1, the best of the 3 imo. The gay hotel manager is a fucking hoot, and Sydney Sweeney is perfect as the petulant daughter in a dysfunctional family.

😂 White Lotus is superb.
Red, did you ever get into Fargo? Seasons 1, 2 especially are so good (watched both twice). And in season 1, Billy Bob Thornton played one of the best ‘bad guy’ roles I’ve ever seen.
Currently re-watching season 5.

I've only got 2 episodes of TWL left and want to watch them but also save them for later at the same time!
I like Billy Bob - he was great in Landman, but I cannot stand Martin Freeman to the extent I can't watch anything he's in, so no Fargo for me.

😂 You don’t know what you’re missing with Season 1, if only for Thornton’s performance. But yeah, Freeman plays the whiniest slimiest little shit imaginable in it, so maybe not. Because, your blood pressure… 😂
Okay then, you’ll prob enjoy Season 5. Again, classic Coen Brothers excellence. Juno Temple is as great in it as she was in Ted Lasso. And Jon Hamm (Mad Men) is the Season 5 sociopath.

It's been out for a while but if you like true crime stuff then Netflix Missing:Dead or Alive? is worth watching if you haven't seen it - it's a cut above your regular American crime documentary.

Sounds promising. Will definitely check that out, thanks ☺️
Your post has inspired me to start a separate thread…

“The killer's daughter talks about trauma, abuse, and PTSD, and how she has worked through this by confronting the past and advocating for victims of crime.”
I’ve watched a few documentaries on this bloke in the past so knew the story pretty well but I was curious to hear his daughter’s side of things. I felt sorry for her, thinking the world of him only to then find out he was a mass murderer and the impact it’s had and how it’s shaped her life. I might buy her book at some point.

Not a bad documentary overall.
Sounds good. I probably watch that.

It never gets a mention, but Strictly Come Dancing is one of the most uplifting TV programmes ever, imo.
The music is great, the dancing is great, and the real life stories of the celebs and pro dancers is often very touching.
Celebrity Traitors. You either love it or you hate it...I love it. Alan Carr, jovial, good-hearted, ditzy, mincing Alan....who would have thought he could be such a devious, backstabbing BRILLIANT Traitor?
