The thought of surgery (for me, no one else) gives me the creeps. I always said I would age gracefully, and I have. I even stopped colouring my hair 3 years ago....white or grey hair is definitely very ageing, but so what?
I look at women who have had procedures, even famous women who can afford the top medics,, and sooner or later (because from what I see, once they start, they don't stop) they begin to look plastic , shiny, and slightly odd. I look at women who have aged naturally, Audrey Hepburn is a great example, and she looked her age, and still very beautiful.
Yes, but it can also depend on the genes you’re born with, Syl. I guess you must have been blessed with great genes, because you really are aging fantastically well.
My Mamma was a stunner right into her late-70s, but I look much more like my Dad….
OK, I’ll ’fess up. I’ve had 3 procedures done in the last 14 years - a little work around the eyes, jawline, and a boob lift. Other than mascara and lippy when I go out, I hate wearing makeup - especially in a hot climate. And I practically live in tee shirts in the summer out here.
For me it’s really not about trying to looking younger. I see it more as just a bit of tweaking of what the good lord gave me.
‘Subtle and infrequent - and preferably before skin elasticity heads all the way south’ are my golden rules to avoid the dreaded ‘wind tunnel’ look
Thank you, that's kind.
My mum was lovely, she looked far younger than her years even in her 80's her skin was still fresh looking.
I look more like my dad did too, he was tall, darker skinned, with black curly hair, I definitely inherited his genes more than my lovely mums.
You look good Vam, so whatever tweaks you have had, they have not altered your natural features.

I think it depends on the hair. I decided to stop colouring my hair two years ago. Because I'm dark eyed and have dark brows and lashes, it doesn't look too washed out. And my hair is in better condition too. I still wear it long. I only ever had short hair once in my life and hated it.
Have you got used to your grey or white hair?
I don't think I ever will, but I won't ever go back to brunette...the freedom to not colour is too great.
Like you, my eyes, lashes and brows are dark, so that helps. My hair is usually long, but always up, I will go short every now and again.
Not really. I have some slightly darker streaks in it so it does look nicer than the awful brassy look of dyed hair. I'd prefer to still be dark but hey ho, you can't stop the aging process. I much prefer people to look natural, which is why a bloke with a bald head or grey hair doesn't bother me. There's something creepy about people who start to look stretched and fake in old age. They look like mannequins out of a horror film. Katie Price is a case in point. She looks ghastly.
Katie Price looks almost as bad as the woman in the picture before...her mouth looks like she has had a hair lip...it's sad.
I agree about trying to look young when you are not. Keeping your dark brown or black hair never looks natural after a certain age. Much as I hate white on me, it's mine, and at least it's thick, though God knows how, I lose loads of hair naturally and I am always chopping bits off here and there.
And this might be a good place to say I really liked the lipstick you had on when you recently posted your pic - I recall even saying so at the time. If you don’t mind me asking, could you please tell me the brand and shade of that lipstick?

I certainly would if I could, but I can't.
I mix and match lipstick, I have never found one lipstick I like, so I mix cheap £3 supermarket brands, with a Channel or Estee Lauder , and I lip line with a darker pencil because my lips look too thick without a liner.
Like you Vam, I dont wear much make up. I hate foundation, stopped wearing mascara years ago because it was such a pain to remove, but always wear a black eye pencil under eyes and a brown eyeshadow on lids when I go out.

Remember Yardley? They did a great lipstick. I used to wear Mary Quant as they also did a nice pale plum shade that suited my dark colouring. I haven't found a single other lipstick that was as nice.

I can do without most make up but mascara. I have quite long lashes so it's a must for me. I use Sculpted by Aimee mascara. It's nice and creamy and make my lashes look much longer.

My eyelashes are blonde so looks like I haven't got any without mascara. I draw a line under eyelashes then mascara top and bottom, and lippy. Never wore foundation.
Katie Price looks like she has FAR too much work done. She made a million on OnlyFans only to lose it and go bankrupt again. Why does she keep going bankrupt I have no idea nor why she is desperate to have a baby when at 46 it's unlikely. I feel plastic surgeons should have more legislation slapped on them. As for ageing etc I used to wear hair extensions but for last 3 years I have got rid . My natural( dyed blonde) hair is cut to my shoulders. I like lob's too. I feel general rule of thumb is look how you feel comfortable.

Katie Price that the public know is a media creation designed to occupy our minds, taking up brain space, so that there is less space to think about things that really matter. Connected with it are commercial profit associated with the Katie Price creation - media profit, social media profit, advertising space connected with it et cetera.
I have written a book that shows how the world can be divided between three types of people:

I have written a book that shows how the world can be divided between three types of people:
“Con Mum” Netflix - a son and others being conned by an elderly lady.
Yes, I've watched it. Staggering.
Just read that the 84yo grifter has been arrested, not for conning her son or his friends but for three others. She used the same "ill-health" grift and conned them out of £100,000+ - I suppose if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

She sounds anything but stupid, but how any woman could con her own son out of thousands, is despicable.
Stupid insomuch as carrying out the same con with several people, being traceable on the internet (eg different names on different marriage certificates etc). She went from conning her son and others to carrying out the same con with others after she disappeared from their lives.
Her son was desperate to have her in his life and fell for her "dying of cancer" lies, being an illegitimate daughter of someone in Brunei royal family and being a successful business woman. I can't find much sympathy for him tbh because he put the promise of immense wealth (upon her death) before his partner and newborn child...he has lost them both through his own greed and stupidity and has £300,000 debts.
