Cringy, self-indulgent, joyless music imv. Hope no one with suicidal tendencies was listening to that! 😳
I understand that, I think sexually confused people, and he obviously is, can influence others a great deal, especially when they have such a public presence.
But I also thought his performance came from his own experience and performed from the heart.
I have watched it twice, and both times found it really fascinating....sort of like watching someone have a public breakdown.
Sure, Syl, I agree. But I question to what extent the ‘influence’ of a performance like that could manifest on others - hopefully not in a negative way.
All that angst, shrieking and writhing around - he seemed agonised and in despair, imv. Utterly depressing.
If you’re right that his performance was genuine and heartfelt, rather than a cynical manipulation of current transgender trends, then the guy clearly needs more therapy instead of navel-gazing his ‘insecurities’ on a world stage.

“World Boxing will introduce mandatory sex testing, to determine the eligibility of male and female athletes that want to take part in its competitions. The introduction of mandatory testing will be part of a new policy on “Sex, Age and Weight” to ensure the safety of all participants and deliver a competitive level playing field for men and women.
In light of plans to introduce this policy and the particular circumstances surrounding some boxers that competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, World Boxing has written to the Algerian Boxing Federation to inform it that Imane Khelif will not be allowed to participate in the female category at the Eindhoven Box Cup or any World Boxing event until Imane Khelif undergoes sex testing.
This decision reflects concerns over the safety and wellbeing of all boxers, including Imane Khelif, and aims to protect the mental and physical health of all participants in light of some of the reactions that have been expressed in relation to the boxer’s potential participation at the Eindhoven Box Cup.

“ A trans doctor at the centre of a landmark employment tribunal has claimed the distress of giving evidence forced the medic to undergo counselling.
Dr Beth Upton has defiantly spoke out to say 'trans people are not going anywhere’ after revealing plans for the money raised by a crowdfunder.**
Dr Upton, who was born a man, and Fife Health Board are accused of breaching the Equality Act after forcing nurse Sandie Peggie to get changed alongside the trans medic.
Last night, Susan Smith of campaign group For Women Scotland said: ‘Dr Upton continues to pretend he is the victim, saying the experience has been “incredibly distressing” and a “huge personal struggle”.
‘Reading this, one might forget the distress caused to a female nurse who objected to his presence in the women’s changing room, and the compromise to her dignity and privacy.
‘As for a “struggle”, Ms Peggie has the weight of the NHS against her and was unsupported by her own Union.
‘Dr Upton, backed by managers and senior colleagues, is certainly not the underdog in this sorry tale and, moreover, pushed the hospital to take action against Sandie.’
** he received ”£5807 (he’s keeping half for counselling, loss of earnings for my wife, travel and accommodation and the other half “we intend to split amongst several local charities and community groups working to support vulnerable people”).” whereas £38,000 worth of donations has been donated for Mrs Peggie (”all of which is set to go to charity”.)
Sounds as though this fool is going to carry on as before no matter the outcome of the court case and what the law says. Will the NHS continue supporting him? Waiting list too long for NHS counselling or did he opt for private?
I also blame the NHS for supporting this entitled freak.
It really is people like him that give transsexuals, who just quietly go about their business without trying to demean women, a bad name.

Yep - it’s a tale as old as time: It’s often a minority who make it worse for the majority.
I rarely follow this thread, because I’m of a ‘When did a trans person ever impose themself on my life?’ mindset. But I did want to respond to the bang-on point you posted 🎯

“The Scottish Information Commissioner orders the health board to issue revised responses after its refusal to say how much it has spent fighting legal action brought by nurse Sandie Peggie over sharing a changing room with a transgender doctor.
NHS Fife failed to comply with its freedom of information duties over the costs of an employment tribunal, Scotland's Information Commissioner has ruled.
The health board received three separate requests in March 2025 for the cost to date of the legal action, which was brought by nurse Sandie Peggie after her complaint about sharing a changing room with transgender medic Dr Beth Upton led to her suspension.
NHS Fife rejected all three freedom of information (FOI) requests, stating that the information requested was exempt under the FOI Act's exemption - which protects personal information.
However, a probe by the Scottish Information Commissioner has revealed that when responding to the requests, NHS Fife did not actually have the information on which it based its reply.
Information Commissioner David Hamilton said the details about costs was not obtained until later from the NHS Central Legal Office, and that the health board should have replied on the basis of information it did hold at the time of the requests.
Mr Hamilton ordered the health board to carry out fresh searches for information it did "actually hold" at the time, and to issue revised responses in line with what it finds.
The OC allowed him in the ring with a female knowing, like most of the world, that he was male. So much for “Russian propaganda“ eh?
Disgusting! He could have damaged a female
Hopefully the days of blokes being hailed as sporting heroes by beating up women is coming to a close. Nothing is stopping them getting into a ring with their fellow men but most of us know what the answer to that will be.
It’s hilarious watching all the original Khelif supporters desperately denying their “she”s female” support, many believing that by deleting those posts it can’t be proven until, of course, screenshots are provided and then…complete silence.
World Boxing” is the governing boxing body for the next Olympics (afaik) the same Olympics where Khelif has been confident to claim he’ll again win gold so I can’t wait to hear if he’s taken this ‘invasive’ swab test...but then again why wouldn’t he, after all him and his team have repeatedly told the world he is female. This time round having ”f” on his passport is not enough as no test = no “female” boxing.
“Thank goodness… Because this is precisely what I want if the plane suddenly plummets from the sky… a lot of histrionic dramatics from trolly-dollies & a non-binary captain screaming their pronouns over the PA system, before hurtling into a cliff face at 1000 km per hour… https://x.com/DreyfusJames/status/1929590092701598031
“ The Algerian Boxing Federation have accused World Boxing of 'violating' Olympic champion Imane Khelif's rights.
Algerian boxing officials have reacted furiously to Khelif being named, claiming it has 'created psychological damage to our athlete'.
The letter written by the Algerian Federation President added that the 'consequences are immeasurable' and that Khelif had not been given 'the right to defend herself'.
Algerian Boxing's outrage comes after World Boxing president Boris van der Worst offered an apology for Khelif being specifically named, admitting 'her privacy should have been respected'.
The governing body also confirmed past performances results achieved by boxers will not be under review. This comes amid a call from JK Rowling to strip Khelif of her Olympic gold medal.
Now the IOC has broken its silence on the 'leaked' report which declares Khelif as having a 'male karotype,' as reportedly seen by 3 Wire Sports.
'The IOC has always made it clear that eligibility criteria are the responsibility of the respective International Federation,' a spokesperson told Mail Sport.
'The factors that matter to sports performance are unique to each sport, discipline, and/or event.
Imane Khelif, the boxer at the center of the Olympic gender controversy, is skipping a boxing tournament in the Netherlands after World Boxing announced mandatory sex testing for all athletes.
The Algerian boxer, who won gold at the Paris Games last summer amid scrutiny over her eligibility, did not register in time for the event before applications closed on Thursday.
The Khelif controversy is a tricky one. It seems to boil down to is s/he a him or a her. And that seems to depend on whether you base it on his/her registered sex at birth (female, I believe (s)he had/has female genitalia) or if you base it on the latest genetic test that shows XY (male) chromosomes. In the end it probably doesn't matter which pigeonhole you use, if someone has male chromosomes they shouldn't be fighting women.
Khelif should not be permitted to keep the gold medal if it has been determined they are legally male. It is an Olympic medal for a women's event. If they are citing experiencing trauma I have no reason to doubt that, the new legislation will have ruined many transgender athlete's lives. It is not their fault that the law was amended to include them as women due to wokery gone mad only to have logic prevail and the law changed back again. It's the authorities that are to blame for this unseemly farce. I rarely agree with J K Rowling who is seemingly fixated on the topic but there is no way they should be allowed to keep a medal for a women's sporting event. What's the point in amending laws if they are not enforced!

What’s tricky about it? He never went through with an appeal re a previous banning, hasn’t gone through with his threat of suing those who claimed he was male and now hasn’t taken a swab to determine his true sex…does that sound like a bona fide female fighting for her right to fight? He has had every chance to prove his sex.
And I agree no bloke should be fighting females, in the past, now or in the future.
