Next week. The physio has a gym.

You would be proud of me. I am doing my exercises all the time, (and obviously they hurt a lot) I was only one of two let out of hospital the next day, (and the other lady was 15 years younger than me)  and I am walking around with just one crutch now.happy

I can only imagine how painful this must be.   Hopefully, only temporary.

It will be, going by the last one I had.

We forget how painful some things are till they come round again. (probably why billions of women have more than one baby)wink

At the minute, the swelling and bruising are getting worse, I have started taking painkillers, which I avoided for the first few days, but they are now needed.

I have  a tip for you.  Castor oil mixed with these essential oils.   Ginger.  Turmeric.  Eucalyptus.  Frankincense.  Lavender.    Worked miracles for my knees recently.   I could hardly walk, as the inflammation was in overdrive - I have a damaged meniscus and OA due to all the dancing I did.   That mix calmed it right down and helped the pain.   You can't put it over a wound though.  Perhaps just the surrounding area.

Can you buy it ready mixed? Is Arnica gel any good?... they rave over it on QVC. Th e wound cant be wet for 2 weeks, then the dressing will be off and the stitches out.

Oh Syl, you sound in a lot of pain. No offence to Maddog but if you need to take painkillers I think you can be forgiven for laying off the exercise until you're ready. I hope you're getting plenty of tlc. Fingers crossed the pain lessens soon and take good care of yourself xx

I have to do the exercises to keep the leg from stiffening up, in the long run it'll be worth it. happy

I am getting lots of TLC, so I know I am very lucky.

There were a couple of ladies in the same ward who were going home alone when they were discharged, I know they will cope, because they were strong, but it made me sad that they have such an uphill struggle ahead, with no one to help them.

I hate that stuff.  Makes your mouth dry.

Hopefully, it soon will be 🤞🏻 Codeine scares me a bit, because it can harm the liver.

Sorry to see you’re still in pain.

Thanks Vam...from memory, it's around 3 weeks of pretty intense pain, gradually lessening.
Maybe someone else would feel more, some less.

My problem with codeine, apart from the dry mouth, is it makes me feel sick, so it's a catch 22 situ.
To cheer us up, OH is looking for villas to take the grandkids to in a few months...we will get to eat our dinner cooked over that volcano soon. happy

console It’s hard to see time flying when you’re in pain, but it really does fly by. Try and hang tough for just another week or so.

You'll be setting foot in that lush villa before you know it! 😎

castor oil and all those EO I listed are anti inflammatory and help ease pain and promote healing.    I mix my own.  Rub into the surrounding areas.

Thanks....will see how the Arnica works.

Are you still taking those NMNH supplements? I stopped when I knew I was having surgery...will start again soon.

We're they sending them home alone after knee replacement?

That doesn't seem like a good idea..
