Can you imagine having a baby in old age though? I was still in my 40's when I became a nana....and though I had loads of energy, I didn't have the same energy I had when I was in my 20's and had my son. When I am a great nan (possibly not too far away) I certainly won't be doing the things I did when I was a new nan.
Mother Nature usually has it right.
See.
We agree. 👍
Of course we agree on some things, you can't be wrong ALL the time.
Quick update...did my first physio on Wednesday, an hour of exercise, including static bike (my favourite) and that walking treadmill machine that seems like you are skiing, I was going great on that till the instructor came over and told me I was reversing not going forwards.
Yesterday I had my stitches out (35) my leg looks ever so pretty... but the scar and swelling will eventually fade.

Onwards and upwards.
This is mostly why I’ve logged in - to see how stitch removal, etc, went (well, that and to have another trump whinge 😉)
Way to go 👏🏻👏🏻 You’re doing great. As for the BIB - Arnica, Arnica, Arnica!

I will order more Arnica when QVC have it in stock Vam...They sell huge 500 ml bottles, the smaller bottle I had has lasted till now though.
I am also using Bio oil, I swear by that too, it's great for scars, I even use it as a facial moisturiser sometimes.
I read your Trump posts, and the ever changing Trump avis make me smile every day too.
edit...Arnica gel back in stock at QVC, £33 for 1Ltre....that should last till Christmas.

So I have praised the services I have been given from the NHS, it's only fair to mention the not so good experience.
Yesterday was my second round of physio, I turned up at the expected time, went to reception, gave my name, the receptionist said 'Oh, she hasn't booked you in for todays class'. I showed her the appointment card the physio gave me last week...1pm, 9/7/25. Just go up, she said, she will fit you in the class.
So up I went, and there was no one waiting, I was a bit early, so I just waited till gone 1pm, then I went and knocked on physio's door...no answer. So I went back to reception, and another receptionist was on the desk, I explained there was no one to take the class..."The physio is ill today, there is no class". I asked her why I had not been informed, it would have saved me a wasted journey, her answer...."How could we have informed you?... you were not on the list".

That IS annoying. It's the same with Admin departments in normal.businesses, the one department doesn't tell the other department what it's doing. I'm your case the department didn't know what it was doing at all
I'm so glad you're on the mend. I hope the scar fades if you find it unsightly but I like to think of them as battle wounds when we fought life and won. But obviously I hope it fades for you. You've made such great progress and are coming on leaps and bounds, and you have been relentlessly doing your exercises. Maddog can't tell you off now !!
Seriously, I'm so pleased your progress is going well x
What's the latest update Syl on how you're knee is doing now?
I hope it's becoming a little easier for you, although I know it take ages to heal xx
Thanks Mags.
The outside healing is great, tbh, the scar doesn't look that much different to the other knee I had replaced 11 years ago. I was lucky to never get stretch marks when I was pregnant, so I think my skin is pretty tough, and being dark helps.
Inside...the muscles/nerves at the back of my knee are hurting a lot, and the knee is still very hot to the touch, but that's probably to be expected....everything gets involved when the full knee is replaced. I am exercising and walking loads and back to doing more or less everything I did before, save anything that involves kneeling.
So that's where I am right now, thanks for asking. x
