I think you have to give people a chance.

My yardstick is resentment, as soon as I feel resentful that someone is taking a lot more than they are giving, I have no qualms in finishing a relationship, and once finished, that's it.

Yep.  One might not say fuck off you arsehole and don't come back but one certainly thinks it.

 One often does. lol

🤷🏻‍♀️ Personally, I see no problem with #1 (but not if it means refusing to help out someone in need).

Definitely no prob with #5 either! ragga 😂

#4, #9 and 10, definitely with my other half. Well, he DOESN'T understand me.ragga I think he considers himself lucky that he doesn't!  I wouldn't say "That's not my problem" personally unless I was being a bit terse with someone. I don't think it's rude necessarily , it just depends on the person.

I suppose 6.  I am who I am, but I do apologise if I'm in the wrong.

I would - and do! nodwink

The moment when I realise the person I’m trying to reason with just ain’t wired right, and is beyond reasoning with, ‘Not my problem‘ is my go-to default setting.

Do men ever really understand women?

I think we think in a completely different plane, ie, a higher one. Men can be pretty basic in their thinking when it comes to females.

Oh yes in those circumstances it's not rude at all. I meant when dealing with loved ones and people I know, I probably wouldn't say that phrase because I wouldn't appreciate to hear it back.

But if someone is not an individual you know well and happens to be an epic tit I think it's not just an apt phrase but required!  nod

They think totally differently. They lack imagination. As you say, women are more complex and more heartfelt in their thinking and in a commercial society this is seen as 'wasting time' or 'being sensitive '. Men are generally considered more straight forward and therefore superior but they just lack imagination and creativity imho of course.

Obviously some men are both logical and sensitive in their thinking, but not many. The role models for young men these days considers any type of empathy as a show of weakness which is a shame.

I actually worry about the role models some young men aspire to nowadays.

Black rappers who lead immoral illegal lifestyles, or AI generated superheroes.

Their view of women is generated by porn star images, and no doubt they think that's the way women like to be treated too. The internet has a lot to answer for.

I know millions of young men have grounded families who are their main influence, but a % don't....and they are the ones to worry about.

Trump actually being taken seriously as a politician is another result of the mentality you are talking about. Frankly we live in very misogynistic times.  The only drama to highlight the problem was "Adolescence" and as good as it was, it's been pretty much forgotten now whilst the Manosphere continues to poison the minds of teenage boys and young men. Women continue to be mature adults whilst men retreat into more fantasist worlds and behaviours. The creation of the female AI sex doll is now the most anticipated thing by such men who they believe(or hope) will replace real women. However most men claim they don't require or want these female doll's  to talk, just be..available. The majority of male influencers are not interested in the opinions of women, in fact they find women speaking disdainful.

Sorry Syl, I'm being a doom merchant on every thread..! I will try to lighten up. But you are certainly right, society and the mentality of men is very concerning right now.

Don't be sorry, your opinions are as valid as anyone else, but tbh, sometimes we can get bogged down with all the doom and gloom news that's shoved in our faces.

A good grounding though is to look around you, at your own family and friends, and often what we see there is at odds with what we read about.

That's very true x I'm just glad my Dad isn't around to see the world as it is now, he was a gentle man and wouldn't be able to cope with how cruel it is now.

There will always be people who rise to the top in every field, and now women are given more opportunities, they can also excel in all of the above.

Emotionally, I think women still surpass men, and a bonus is we can also do two or three things at once, a talent many men don't posses. wink

Many, many things, women can multitask, men find it hard to hold a conversation and tie their shoes at the same time.

The very fact you need to ask, makes me think you must be male....bless. console

By many, many things, do you mean like walking and breathing at the same time, or picking your nose while you're watching TV, or is it something more complicated than that?
