Our terrible slip in morals and standards

This is the result of allowing a kid to roam at will around a hospital.     This was unheard of years ago.

A six-year-old boy allegedly killed a newborn baby after being left to roam around a hospital's maternity unit, despite complaints from parents.

Police have launched a criminal inquiry after the horror unfolded at the Jeanne-de-Flandre Children's Hospital in the northern city of Lille.

It was there that a baby identified as Zayneb-Cassandra – who was born premature, at 7.5 months, to a 23-year-old woman, earlier this month – was declared dead on Tuesday.

She suffered a traumatic brain injury last Friday after allegedly being dropped on the floor by the boy 'who treated her like a doll,' said an investigating source.

Despite being reported as a 'disruptive presence' in the hospital, the boy was found alone with the unconscious baby in a neonatal unit.

The baby was her mother's first child, and she was delivered by cesarean section, said the investigating source.

The 'disruptive six-year-old' – the son of another mother who was in a maternity ward – was meanwhile spotted wandering around the hospital unattended.

Zayneb-Cassandra's grandmother told the Voix du Nord newspaper: 'The boy would arrive at 7am and spend all day running up and down the hallways.

'All the mothers were complaining, and a nurse even warned the child's mother that there was a problem. He was entering the other rooms.

'He also entered Zayneb's room for the first time. He said she looked like a doll, and my husband, who was there, took him out.'

Last Friday, Zayneb's mother was signing discharge papers, when 'all of a sudden, the family received a call from a ward manager, saying they needed to come right away – a little boy had been playing with the baby, who had fallen.'

According to the family, who cite another mother in a neighboring room, 'a loud bang' was heard when the baby's head connected with the ground.

Zayneb was found unresponsive on the floor, next to the six-year-old, who was on a chair.

'It seems he tried to grab her by her nappy, and she fell on her head,' said Zayneb's grandmother.

The baby was rushed to intensive care, but she was declared dead on Tuesday, after suffering 'a serious a brain injury.'

Dear God, horrific. That poor mite and family xxx

Sounds as though that kid was dumped by an adult, hospital being a free day care centre - Why was he not stopped from being there all day, particularly after others complaining? and as for the lax security access…

Horrible story.

Omg 😲 that's horrendous.  Poor baby, heartbreaking for the parents. 😢

A very tragic story.
I would hope that could never happen here, but some of the behaviour in public that parents allow their kids to get away with, and when the general public are so wary of speaking out...I suspect unless people get a grip, anything could happen.

It is a tragedy. The parents must have been beyond devastated. The little boy should not have been running about corridors in a hospital, it shows how busy and rushed off their feet NHS staff are to not have two minutes to return the child to its Mother.

That being said, she was told he was running around the ward and could see for herself he was absent. He's only 6. Why wasn't she worried enough to make sure her own son was safe,? I can't fathom that part

The parents must feel like their world is broken, I can't even imagine their pain. .

This happened in France, Fluffy, so it wasn't an NHS hospital, but no doubt they have the similar problems to us. Unfortunately, neglectful parents are everywhere. Had he been controlled, the baby would still be alive and safe.

FFS!   Why would any normal person do this?

Evil nurse Lucy Letby and Sara Sharif's killer stepmother are pals and spend hours playing Uno together behind bars, it has been reported.

The child killers are said to while away the hours in their comfortable cells at Surrey's HMP Bronzefield with endless rounds of the popular card game.

There's a trend in cat torture at the moment.  Although the increase in animal torture videos is at an all time high generally.     I really think we need much stiffer sentences for this.  Animal cruelty leads to human cruelty and should not be tolerated at all in any form.  There's a special place in Hell for these fuckers.

This excerpt from the woman who runs a charity called Feline Guardians is heartbreaking.

Meanwhile, the torture and killing goes on. I asked Lara what was the hardest footage she had had to view during her investigations, and her response was unexpected. It was just the cruel and cynical exploitation of a mother’s innate love for her kitten.

‘There was a man holding a kitten on the roof of one building and he was taunting its mother, who was on another building just too far away for her to jump from – but she tried anyway,’ says Lara. ‘She came up short and fell, and there were bars sticking out of the structure. As she fell, she hit them, one after another, injuring herself badly each time.

‘She tried this eight, ten times, before the video cut out. She was landing on her back and her spine was very badly injured. It might have gone on much longer and it was hard to watch this mother’s pain. It’s an image I can’t get out of my head.’

I wish I hadn't read that, the imagery it conjured up is horrendous.
I have always believed that this kind of cruelty starts in early childhood. Kids who pull legs off spiders, blow up frogs, smack pets etc...obviously not all kids who do this will turn into adult animal torturers, but they need to be watched carefully.

And I agree, sentences should reflect suffering.

Incredibly revealing outfits worn by young girls and women.
In my high street, it's now the norm to see girls as young as 12 or 13, in tight Lycra leggings or shorts, that should only be worn in the gym.
Leggings with the ruched seem up the bum, especially in lighter colours, look like the girls are naked from the waist down.
Often these girls are with their mothers (seldom fathers) usually mum has the trout pout and a similar outfit to daughter, only she looks even worse because she has piled on the pounds since she was a young teen.

I have no idea of their morals, but the standards in how many women dress now has certainly slipped.

 @ digs,  I couldn't read the cat torture 😓

Syl, yes I've seen flesh coloured leggings where I thought they were naked, had to look again!

Yes standards have slipped.  Pregnant women showing bare belly, as if we all want to see it, no nice shocks anymore.

Yeah, it's not a good look.

Neither are muffin tops spilling over low cut jeans, some of those look like the woman is 6 months pregnant. ragga

In a gym, power-walking, jogging, bike riding, maybe even a quick whoosh around a supermarket - no problem. If padded butt-lift shorts give women a confidence boost and extra pep in their step, then it’s all good.

I can’t think of where else they’d be a great look, though 💁🏻‍♀️

I used to cycle a lot, those padded shorts would have been handy then, not to enhance my bum, but to cushion the bike seat, which can get really uncomfortable after a while.
They certainly, imo, look ridiculous on women prancing around the shops, as do the arse implants....and you can guarantee, if a woman has an inflated arse, she will also have inflated lips, maybe they come as a job lot.

Vam, I love that pic, is that the beloved horse you no longer have?

Yeah, but the bum enhancement would have been an added bonus. Multipurpose! 😂

And yes, that’s me with my Polo mints muncher. He really was such a good boy… 😔

(no idea why the pic’s blurry, btw! 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I love horses. Unlike you I have never actually owned one, but I love to be around them. Do you still ride?

The horses in the field here, are a mixed bunch. Some are streamlined, a couple look like typical gypsy horses, with plaited hair and colourful jackets (in the winter) and one, my favourite, is a big cart horse, he is the gentlest one. He waits at the bottom of the garden for his polo's every morning. They all have their own personalities.
