Sadly I think this is true, but it's definitely more pronounced online (and works both ways. Some things I see some women saying about men online is also heinous.)

I think social media has crowded out people who talk about love and intimacy because it just doesn't grab as much attention as overly sexualised, vitriolic content. It elevates the worst voices and then conditions people to act in a way which may be completely contrary to their best interests. Everything seems to be based around transactional relationships (if I do x for woman I expect her to y in return etc.) Modern dating seems like a complete hellscape.

I forgot Syl said that and it was the most astute comment I've read for a while. The Manosphere has a lot to answer for. They stated why they dislike women now, because they are too independent, claim not to need men, don't cook or clean and do not always conform to traditional gender roles which makes today's young women less "feminine" , not necessarily in their appearance but in their views and behaviour.

But what they left out is what Syl pointed out, young men resent the sexual power women have. I think some men hate women whatever their age but because of the Manosphere young men are actually jealous of women. The Incels in particular pose a danger to women, their scorn is decades deep based on years of perceived rejection.

You are quite right, there is no "dating" anymore although girls want to date, men just want to spend the night so there is only hook up culture. Men will agree to meet any girl but women are far more picky and meet men they are seeking relationships with not necessarily just one night but apparently they feel pressured to being "cool" when the guy says it's just a one off.

The dreadful dating culture is one reason I'm glad I'm not twenty five anymore!

I just think we should feel blessed that we lived through better days. And that’s why we instinctively know how relationships are supposed to work.

Whereas women in the past have accepted not being the chosen ones, (wall flowers, spinsters, and so on) I don't think men have taken to rejection so well.

Thanks to the internet, they are not always the ones doing the picking and the choosing, the more desirable (allegedly) women are choosing the better looking, better off, better placed men (allegedly) to hook up with.
I had never heard of the word incel a year or so ago....like living life through the internet, it's another sign of modern living.

Why, and in what way?

You are right to treat women differently to men. This ridiculous way of thinking that men and women are the same is barmy.

So, just out of interest, in what way would you expect someone to treat you differently from the way they would treat, let's say, your son or your husband?

 Physically gentler for a start.

I like men to perhaps give up a seat, hold a door open, stand back to let me go first....many things that some women find insulting in some way....I dont.

Agree with all of the above. I don't understand how a woman could get actually insulted by a man (or woman) holding the door for them. Either way it's a polite gesture.

Incels live through the internet, they would have people believe that men don't open doors for women anymore but we know they still do. Men older than 30 at least, anyone younger is a mystery to me now.

The Internet has been a revolution that has changed people's lives. You can talk to your family on screen rather than travel hours to visit them. People who can't make it outside can easily shop online. A wealth of information is literally at our fingertips on any subject. Best of all of course folk can talk on a forum such as this and enjoy debating and offending people's perfume choices by accident in equal measure!lol

But the Internet..has brought out the worst in people too due to anonymity. The dark web which I cannot and never wish to access is  ful of true depravity. You can, access people's credit card details,  buy guns and drugs (although it could be cyanide or sugar. That's the risk with totally unregulated marketplaces run by strangers)There is pornographic content too awful to comprehend and maybe that's why I don't see the Bonnie Blue thing as such a big deal although I understand why others do. I think the only person she hurts is herself.

What's frightening is the surface content (Google, Wikipedia etc) makes up only 30% of the internet. The Dark Web that most people can't access makes up the majority. I only have my knowledge of it from YouTube content creators who go on there and obviously have to censor images of cruelty to animals or websites where men post their ex girlfriends address and photo and pay men to pay her a visit. Hopefully sites like that are a hoax but not all of them are. No, not all of them.

The Internet shows men at their worst when they can act without impunity.

🤢…. Thing is, the name ‘Bonnie Blue’ barely even registered with me. Until today.

But that’s the thing about some of Diggs’ threads. They often make me go Google stuff I didn’t know I wanted to know! 😂

The opposite may be true. Some men watching porn could see women as merely sex objects, have no feeling or emotional attachment towards them, especially if they don't or can't form real relationships with women.
I actually think, more than ever, some men just don't like women nowadays.
Maybe they resent the sexual urges women provoke in them, especially if watching porn is the only way they can get to see a naked female.

I've got more respect for prostitutes than women like Bonnie Blue.   They are the ones that keep the attacks down, if you can even say attacks are down.  They are going up.

I think prostitution should be legalised to make everything safer. What is innately illegal about selling sex? Without "doing the nasty" (hate that phrase)none of us would be alive ffs, it's nothing shameful. It's time to move on imo anyway and just legalise it.

There was a serial killer who went after prostitutes in England ages ago, can't recall his name but they caught him. Because of their profession the women felt they couldn't go to the police. I suspect in big cities like London the police are more lenient anyway and move them along rather than make arrests

Like guest said, selling sex isn't illegal in the UK, buying it is the tricky bit.

I think it should be considered a valid occupation, taxed, insured, and then the women could put more safety measures in place, and be far more protected than they are at present.

There was once a TV programme about a brothel in Texas, I think it was called the Chicken Ranch. Girls operated from the ranch, they had a madame who was like a hospital matron, she insisted on regular medical checks for the girls, vetted who was where, and bouncers were on hand if any trouble started. The girls worked there freely.

From memory, I dont actually think it was legal, but perhaps it should have been, and the same could be done here.

Here's what the City of London Police says about it...

Sex workers and the law

The exchange of sexual services for money is legal in the UK (apart from in Northern Ireland where it's illegal to pay for sex).

But, these related activities are illegal under the Sexual Offences Act 2003:

  • soliciting (trying to get clients) on the street or other public place, including someone in a vehicle
  • paying for the services of a sex worker who's forced or threatened into it
  • owning or managing a brothel (any premises which is used by more than one person for sex work)
  • pimping (someone who has control over sex workers and the money they earn)
  • advertising sexual services, including putting cards in phone boxes

Agree with BIB totally. I saw a programme about a legal brothel in Nevada (?)with Louis Theroux. I don't know if America which has made abortions illegal in some states has still allowed brothels to be legal in these same states. It goes against the current administration 's narrative if so.

It was definitely a far safer and more pleasant environment similar to the instance you describe. The girls could only have two drinks so they didn't get drunk  and were "presented " to the gentleman who chose his favourite and off they went to very clean girly bedrooms. The girls (and they were girls, none were older than 22 and they acted younger)all had different boundaries and some would do things others wouldn't but it was clear safety was paramount and there were men there to protect The women from potential violence.

The lady Louis focused on kept getting kicked out for getting drunk and acting up. She was clearly damaged by her youth in some way and kept  relentlessly trying to seduce a very engaged Louis which was cringe to watch. But you could tell he was concerned about her, she was like a dormant bomb waiting to explode.

This might be an old fashioned totally inaccurate take but I don't think most women mentally thrive sleeping with a lot of men. Some women may do it and feel no negative feelings at all but I don't think they are the norm. Men are built differently and can mentally separate love from intimacy. I don't think promiscuous women should be shamed the way they are in modern society but that doesnt mean I think sleeping with a lot of men is healthy. Hook up culture is almost promoted in many programmes for young women now as if it's a liberated way to be. I'm not sure that's true.
