/\ Wow, you have certainly been to some fabulous places. Bora Bora looks so green and lush, I tried to post some pics but  I can't do it on the tablet, will try tomorrow on my laptop.

Laughed at Parisians, we were warned how rude they were...and they hated Brits. I loved them, even got a free taxi ride (hair raising it was ) because I taught the driver a few English phrases.happy

😂 That sounds like a story in itself. I’d love to know what you taught Monsieur Cabbie.

It’s all overblown hype about Parisians, in my experience. Sure, there are some misery guts among them, as there are anywhere else. Mostly, I’ve always found Parisians to be friendly and welcoming people.

(btw, the old movie South Pacific was filmed in Bora Bora)

I can't remember, it was a while ago. I do know so many people told me the French were very unhelpful to the English, so I took along a translation phrase book, and I think because I was trying to make an effort (albeit a pathetic one) people were more forgiving.

So the taxi driver looked at the book, pointed out certain phrases, and asked what the correct pronunciation would be, I imagine he is going round saying things like 'can you tell me which dry white wine I can order by the glass'(I am improvising here) in a Manchester accent.happy

He then proceded to drive through the centre of Paris, and I swear it was like being on the dodgems, terrifying, but free.wink

Oh, I was also offered a job there too, I didn't know we were in the redlight area, so thankfully I declined.

nod I’ll never forget it.

It’s a really, really long-haul destination, Syl 😵‍💫  But oh, so worth it.

One day I’ll tell how a bunch of classy, well-heeled women and me reacted to a floor show at our resort one night. This will give you some idea, though 🤣…👇🏻

Oooo, my imagination is working overtime, and would it be inappropriate to ask if they wore anything under their costume. I have tried to enlarge, but I can't see.wink

Might fit a Quickie in before the year is out, we have been looking.

But the one we have looked forwards to with grandkids ...we had to postpone because of my knee-op.

We have booked that for next April.

Vam, where is your favourite holiday spot?

What with your oven’s demise, bathroom flooding, and surgery + post-surgery physio/convalescence, it’s definitely time for some R&R (for both of you).

To answer that BIB, do I have your permission to be a bit flash? wink

 Oh God yeah...be flash.wink

Paradise on earth: Tahitian Islands - specifically Bora Bora. And off the coast of beautiful New Zealand, the Cook Islands - specifically Rarotonga. And Hawaiian Islands - especially Maui (because, my honeymoon 😉). And Barbados for Christmas (twice on Concorde).

Cities: Prague, Paris (yes, despite Parisians! 😂), Firenze, New York, Boston and Vancouver.

I always fancied visiting Tahiti.  I used to do the dance and performed it a few times.  Had the full costume etc and ran a troupe of us.   it's very high energy and nearly killed me. lol

Mags, hand on heart, that really is what the Tahitian islands look like nod  As I said, paradise on earth.

😂 I looked - their flappy bits were modestly covered.

But oh jeez - those dancing guys were a thing of beauty. Oiled incredibly muscly thighs that could crack a coconut in half in just one move.

The female dancers were absolute stunners too nod

I love to see beautiful things/people.

I wish it on you! wink

And as a former artiste (😂), you’d revel in the floor shows.

Me and my ex couldn’t agree on how to spend the day so he went to a museum and I went shopping. We’d arranged to meet in some street, I stood there like a plank getting annoyed at my ex being late and blokes looking me up and down and commenting in French. One little man came up (picture Don Estelle) started jibbering on, the woman who was stood a few feet away came over and had a discussion with him. His parting shot was to look me up and down with a blunt “non”. The woman smiled at me…long story short, in broken English, explained  they’d been haggling a price but he thought I wasn’t worth the price. Yeah, red light district but unlike you I didn’t get hired.

my ex dined out on that for years.

The cheeky sod, even thinking he had a chance, and no wonder he is your ex, finding that amusing.ragga

Just to be clear though, I wasn't hired....and oddly, it was a woman who offered me the job.

So I'm standing in The White Elephant Saloon last night and see two pretty girls giving off "We are definitely tourists" vibes..

One is wearing leopard print Adidas sneakers and a sort of strange cut jeans. I wander up and introduce myself thinking these are east coast girls, and low and behold they are from the coast of the Thames.

One thing about all these years on forums, I can discuss the UK far better than the typical redneck. I think it shocks them..

Not sure it was entirely their fashion that tipped me off..You can tell when people are not exactly sure of their surroundings because they are in a different environment.

I completed my job as the official greeter of all pretty girls from other countries and asked them if they had any complaints, lol..
