Platforms are still very much around though - just not the ‘tower block’ high ones.

@ Syl, wanna see the shoes I wore to that wedding from the pic of me I posted a while back? 😉…. 👇🏻

 Gorgeous...on you.

On me, I would be like Dick Emery's Mandy. lol

😂😂😂 @Syl.

Now you’ve seen that when I say heels, I mean proper full-on heels!

Only when it’s a car-to-door deal these days, though. I mostly live in flip flops and my trusty Chucks 🩵

Does anyone wear stilettoes any more? Most of the women I know, especially the younger ones, wear either trainers or boots, even with dresses.
I never thought I would be in fashion with my thick soled sketchers, which I have had to wear for the last year or so, but amazingly...I am. happy

Even my grandsons girlfriend asked where I got my last pair from.

@ Fluffster….YES! CK perfume was another ‘must have’. Gawd, that stuff reeked

Sadly, on me, it smelt like a bunch of alley cats had each stopped by to pee all over me  😖😂

Vam, I'm sure it wasn't THAT bad!!lolI bought it 2 months ago funnily enough purely out of nostalgia and it's not the greatest scruffy But I'm glad you remember it was a must have with Kate Moss ad's everywhere.

Totally off topic but what's your favourite perfume?

I doubt I could afford it in month of Sunday's but if you don't mind saying I would love to know.happy

I ADORE Chanel Allure but tried the much celebrated Chanel N'5 ..and I don't particularly like it scratch  I bought it without trying it I was so sure I would like it, it's the iconic scent after all, and I think Allure is far nicer.

Some of us blokes can be quite fashionable you know!

My Dad was a real peacock in the late sixties, early seventies. He has shoulder length hair ,wore platform boots and trousers with stars on?! lol I couldn't believe it when my Mum showed me the photo's but all his friends had long hair and looked the same.

The star trousers were relegated to the wardrobe (thank Goodness) but looking back once my brother and I were born he dressed smartly (he was told once he looked like a "city gent" )and even posed a bit when photo's were taken! He was a real show off and nobody noticed sigh. But men can certainly love their fashion. up

My favourite perfume was Chanel 5 and Coco. Still wear Coco, but very strong. It's a night perfume.

Chanel 5 is a day one as well as night, softer scent.

“Totally off topic but what's your favourite perfume?“

@ Fluffster…. despite trying loads of different ones, mostly cos they smelled fabulous on other people, I always end up back with the ones I’ve worn for years.

after 7pm - Must de Cartier (eau de parfum) or Baccarat Rouge 540 (eau de parfum)

daytime (if I can be arsed) - Byredo Blanche or Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc (the white bottle)

sometimes - Eau de Horse Dung (limited edition) 😎

Edit to add …not sure if Narciso Rodriguez is available in the UK. If it is, check it out, cos I have a feeling you’d like it nod

None of the Chanel perfumes have ever worked well on me. Not even Chanel No.1 (l’eau rouge), which is the lightest of all the Chanel fragrances.

They always smell great on everyone else though! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

One relative of mine says every time they smell No5 they think of me...which I took as a nice compliment.

I heard once (could be an old wives tale) that if you can't smell the perfume on yourself but others can, that particular perfume suits your body??

I have a feeling these will be a tad expensive , but smell gorgeous. I have never tried Cartier for some reason. Horse Dung is a Eau not a Parfum and reasonably priced ,that's a positive at least!

Thanks for the recommendation Vam, I shall Google that and take a look.nod I foresee me being broke in the near future but only one life we have. Well that's my excuse ..!

 Aww, that‘s a lovely compliment 🤗

My problem is that I can always smell perfume on myself. And all too often, I’ve really wished I couldn’t! 🤣 So I’ve learned it’s best to stick to what I know.

@ Fluffy….despite the name (Pure Musc) it’s a very light fragrance, but it lingers for ages wink

I feel I've offended everyone, I said I wasn't keen on Chanel  N'5 and now you and Mags declare its your favourite scent !!!xrxr  I just prefer other scents, but I don't hate it honest! (panics)

Before it was discontinued my Mum wore a perfume occasionally called Gingham and it had a brown and white tartan box (I think). I think it was a day perfume. I just wondered but anyone remembered it?

 lol

Dont panic, it would be a boring old world if we all liked the same stuff. Variety is the spice of life, and that includes views ranging form scents to politics. x

Thanks, that sounds lovely as I don't always like stronger scents. I DID like Purple Opium by  Yves saint Laurent but not the Black Opium. That was the only strong perfume I liked. Some of the Dior perfumes are subtle , J'Adore I quite liked.

I DON'T trust celebrity perfumes. I feel they could be made by anyone and imagine it on a factory line costing £10 but retailing for £50 and then they just put the celebrity 's photo on it.
