Bill Oddie has died. He was 85 yrs old. Good.innings.

I liked him in the Goodies.

Jimmy Cricket died today after a short illness his family said.
He was 80.

He was daft and made me laugh as a kid.

Rod Liddle, columnist in the Sun and Times, died today in hospital after a short illness. He was 66.

I liked him, down to earth writer.

Shocking news about Rod Liddle - he is/was my favourite all time journalist

His Sunday Times column had me in stitches some weeks, he would have hilariously witty views on things like trans activists, taking the knee, BLM, racism, wokery etc

He often got himself in trouble - he was once investigated by the police for inciting terrorism because he suggested that a nuclear bomb be dropped on Glastonbury, as it would instantly get rid of everyone who is hugely annoying. Or that the GE should be held on a muslim holy day so that they can't vote. He once caused outrage by saying that the overwhelming majority of violent crime in London was carried out by young afro-Caribbean men. He never held back and said it as it was

A very intelligent and witty man - RIP Rod - thanks for the laughs!

Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket has gone now. He was one of the old fashioned comics, I never really watched him, but they have been playing clips of him on stage today, and his gentle humour and catchphrases were a lot funnier than some of todays comics.

RIP.

It’s just been announced that the iconic Dolly Parton has died. She epitomised the word ‘fabulous’.

Hope her part of heaven is paved with rhinestones 🕯️🕊️

I just saw that. She was 80, so not sure what she died of.

I just came in and saw it on the news.
I know she was 80, but she seemed so full of life, it's so sad, she was certainly a one off.

Her beloved husband died last year after 58 years of marriage. Hopefully they are now reunited.

RIP Dolly.

nod There’ll never be another quite like her. Aside from her amazing career, she did so much good away from the stage throughout her life.

I just heard a commentator say ‘Dolly is forever.‘. Just like Elvis, Dolly is forever 💫

I just watched the documentary 'Dolly Parton, in her own words'. made in 2023.
It channels her life and career from the start, lots of good footage from throughout the decades, and Dolly talking us through it all.

It would be touching anyway, but especially today.
