I read a quote yesterday that seems to sum up how we are feeling..

"It never occurred to me that Dolly could ever die".

Obviously after 63 years I've seen plenty of celebrities and important people pass.

Never have I seen such a collective feeling of sadness for a loss coupled with mutual admiration for a life well lived serving others. Her joy was infectious.

 I said the same. Many fabulous people have been and gone, but the sorrow that Dolly's passing has generated... I can only think of Princess Diana's death in recent history as having such an impact on the public.

I listened to a phone in on the radio this morning, and two callers, both male, actually cried as they were talking about her. That's the sort of impact she had on people.

Tim Curry from the Rocky Horror Show has gone now - the same age as Dolly.

Today outside Buckingam Palace, the Coldstream guard band paid tribute by playing Nine to Five.happy.

 He was funny in Rocky Horror Show, when he sung

'I'm a sweet transvestite ' lol

 

He had a stroke, never really recovered.

Actor Richard O'Sullivan, whose roles included Robin Tripp in 1970s TV sitcoms Man About the House and Robin's Nest, has died aged 82.

I use to watch' Robins Nest',it was of its time, and he was always likeable in it.

I don't think he was well and.lived in a home i think. Used to be in Doctor in the House years ago.too.

 Yes he was Mags. Doctor in the house was another old fashioned sitcom...there wasn't much choice back in those days. A lot of the programmes that were broadcast were simple, far too tame for nowadays.

Stephanie Cole died today aged 84. She had Alzheimer's.

She was in lots of series over the years. I liked her. R IP Stephanie x

 I didn’t recognise the name, Mags, so I Googled and remembered her right away. I loved her in Doc Martin!

I just saw this. Sad...she played Roy Cropper's mum in Coronation Street.

But I think the first thing I ever saw her in was Tenco. She played one of the women captured in a Japanese POW camp....that was a great series, only remembered by the very old amongst us.

RIP Stephanie Cole.
