Well it's another Saturday night again, they come around so quickly, and yep, I do feel like the old fucker this thread is aimed at.
OH started with man flu (bit of a cold) earlier in the week, obviously he didn't keep his germs to himself, and now I have come down with a really horrible bug, coughing, sneezing, aching, sore throat, thoroughly pissed off ...and OH is jumping around with verve and energy.
Sorry to hear you're not well, just as the sun is shining too, bummer.
Play on your husband's conscience, he put you where you are after all...if he's now oozing energy then finger snap for the kettle to go on for starters.

Oh, no. Men don't seem to hang on to colds as long as women.

Oh no, Syl. That's what I've got courtesy of my hub too!
He had a couple days sneezing, I got the full works like you. 😡
It's true that men seem to shake off colds a lot quicker than women. I knew if I caught it I would be 10 times worse than him, and it'll probably last for a couple of weeks.
Men also seem much less bothered about keeping the germs to themselves. I got sick of telling OH to move away from me ... I am thoroughly pissed off, plus I didn't get a wink of sleep last night through coughing, sneezing, and trying to stem the tap that used to be my nose.

Oh Syl poor you.
I'm dosed up, got a sore throat now too. Like you , we got the worst of it 😒

Saturday night, we prepared a Prosecco and Pizza night, though it was Cava not Prosecco.
It goes down like water, and we all drank far too much yet oddly remained sober as judges. So how come today I have a hangover from hell?
Alcohol is funny. The effects when consuming and the effects the next day are often not consistent..
I did a dry January and extended it into half of February..I was drinking THC products which are legal here now, and I'm not exactly sure how..
I didn't really enjoy the feeling of THC drinks when I was out, but I enjoyed not feeling any effects the next day. And as long as didn't go crazy, my sleep was as good as when I don't drink and far better than when I do drink..
If you didn't enjoy the feeling why did you drink them?
I don't enjoy them going out, because I chill too much. They are perfect for unwinding around the house. Alcohol makes me chatty and more outgoing. Its a good social lubricant which is why it's been so popular for 5000 years..
Cannabis makes me calm and relaxed. I realized that that's not really the vibe I won't when I'm out. Now sitting around a campfire, sure.
That's said, some people who have some social anxiety do much better with a little THC. I'm just not one of those people..
I have never tried cannabis in any form, I certainly wouldn't want it in a can.
I love social drinking, a nice shared bottle of wine is part of the experience. I never get drunk, at least not in the last 30 years.
The problem with Cava/prosecco even Champagne, I can drink it all night and not feel any effects other than relaxed, but I can get a rotten hangover with it, which is why I like to stick to wine.

You can get it in a bottle or on tap. You can make mixed drinks out of it. That's why it's become so popular. You're having drinks with a chemical that's far less toxic than alcohol.
What I wouldn't do is smoke it. While that's the quickest way to get it into your system, it's bad for your lungs and makes you stink.
There's probably more sugar in prosecco, which might explain the worse hangover.

Maybe...plus there is no body in it. With wine, you don't glug it like sparkling water, and you know you are drinking alcohol. With most wines being about 14% now, it's a far safer way to drink within limits, ime.
