So it was Friday night, not Saturday night but I met a very cool couple who now live in London..

She has an American father and Japanese mother and was born in Japan. He was a Finn. When they first told me they were from the UK I told them there was no way based on their lack of accents.

Her lack of accent made sense. She went to international schools in Japan, but he had the slightest accent and sounded basically Canadian to me. I've never met a Finn, but I've met enough Scandinavians and Slavs to pick up on the accent right away. He said he has worked very hard to sound American and they eventually want to move here. He succeeded..

I did meet an older Brit who now lives in France. Now she had a very thick accent which was unmistakable after the 2nd word came out of her mouth.She was from the Nor' East and that's basically how she pronounced it..

I thought I was talking to a female Dick Van Dyke..😉
