Mbappe is bubbling under to be an all time legend, and has potential to join that elite group. Not quite there yet, but not far off. He is the only one in the current crop who you could say that about.
Wow first half France V Sweden - France look like world beaters. One of the best 45 minutes I've ever seen from a national team
France look like one of the best sides I have seen in a long time in international football and remind me of the great Brazilian teams of the past. Joga bonito in the flesh. I think their B side could probably win the World Cup on a good day.
I reckon Mbappe will join the pantheon of the greats. This first goal yesterday with the stepover was terrific. I know people are put off him because he has a huge ego but sometimes that confidence lives up to the hype.
As for Mexico, when did they turn into prime Barca? 4 wins, 4 clean sheets I believe. I think we will really struggle against them at the Azteca if we beat DR Congo tonight.
He is a very weird looking man, he looks like he is gurning half of the time, but like others. I find him fascinating.
I watched the full match between Norway and the Ivory Coast last night; I thought it was a great game. I don't know much about football, but I thought the Ivory Coast team was brilliant; that game could have gone either way. Very enjoyable.
Let's hope England at least drag themselves out of the doldrums tonight and put on a decent match....I suspect it will be the last one they win in this World Cup.

Yeah France are looking unbeatable at the moment - I'm hoping they have an off day on the way to the final - Mbappe, Olise, Barcola, and Dembele are 4 of the best attacking players at the WC, and all play for the same team! Olise was almost unplayable - that bicycle kick that hit the post!
I think England will struggle against Mexico as well. Apart from Mexico being a good team and having fanatical home support, England only have 5 days to acclimatise playing at over 7,000 feet (thin air, rapid heartbeat, decreased oxygen, shortness of breath etc), when it usually takes about 3 weeks

Haaland reminds me of one of those new species of deep sea fish that sometimes get caught up in a fisherman's net. Like some kind of blind albino cave fish.
England need to smash Congo tonight - they badly need a lift before going to Mexico

Still laughing at that picture Red posted 😂
BIB: I see it more as a very serene - almost other worldly - vibe. He smiles/gurns a lot as a result of that, imo. He seems to be deeply into zen/yoga stuff. Plus, he doesn’t seem to be up his own ass as someone like Ronaldo is (so far at least!).
I caught an interview where everyone was making a huge big deal about his match performance, and asking him what makes him so talented. He seemed genuinely puzzled, did a massive shrug, and simply replied “I’m good at scoring goals. That’s about it. I don’t know what else to tell you”. Coupled with another massive exaggerated shrug that would make an Italian proud 🤣

They cropped the pic at his knees to keep his webbed feet hidden!
Seriously though, when he retires from football he could take up acting and play aliens and humanoid sea monsters, without any makeup.

Congo will undoubtedly play haramball tonight and try to frustrate England. They are good defensively and will hope to nick a goal on the counter.
I hope we come out aggressively and play high tempo football which suits our style. If we get an early goal Congo will need to press and leave space open which we can exploit. Otherwise it's going to be an exercise in patience for us.
I starting to get excited. We are the favourites for this game and if we keep our heads we will win.
Haaland is a bit of a freak because he's 6'5" and one of, if not the fastest player on the pitch, every game. That allows him to hang around up high and use his freakish speed coupled with his height and strength to beat defenders on well placed balls. A lot of players like him do very well when they are young because their physical skills just overwhelm other players, until the skills of others develop. Conversely someone like Messi might have struggled as a younger player because rhey were small and not fastest player on the pitch. But once they learn their skills, they become the elite.players they are..
Basically a team of Messis would destroy a team of Haalands, but ideally you have at least one Haaland hanging around up top to do a few things Messi can't..
Keep the faith. It could still be ‘Coming Home’ - but it’s just taking the scenic route ….
Thanks Vam, I thought we were going to.lose. Good old Kane.
Next one at one in the morning Monday.i.think.
Come on England !!!!! 🇫🇴

Yep - against Mexico I’ll probably end up watching it through my fingers again!
Could one of the more experienced pundits here please explain HOW IN HELL Kane wasn’t awarded a penalty, after the Congolese goalie put hands on him? 🤷🏻♀️

We were dreadful for the first 20 minutes but improved as the game went on. Harry had no business scoring that 2nd goal but that's what you need from your big players.
Hopefully Tuchel has had some questions answered from this game or we will go down in flames against Mexico!
I've not watched one single game but I have thoroughly enjoyed videos of all the travelling fans being so warmly welcomed by the Americans.
Watching the Scottish fans, in particular, with their bagpipes and cone antics has been a treat, and the spirit in which the Americans have received both has been a treat.
