It looks like Mexico V England is being brought forward to 7pm on Sunday due to a threat of thunderstorms.

So it will be midday local time, where the temp is around 26C as opposed to the 20C it would have been at the original ko time. So England now have heat as well as thin air to contend with.

It's not looking good tbh, especially when you consider that Mexico have only lost twice at the Azteca in 60 years (89 matches)

Disappointing for those who had planned a late pub night and had booked Monday off of work.

I just did the math £210 is almost $300. That would have been $360-375 here with a tip.

Anniversary dinner?

 No, that's in November.

We were just taking the 2 grandsons out to a new tapas bar we recently found.

Sorry Red, is that 7pm UK time?

It would be, but they might be changing their minds again. Apparently they are now 'locked in talks' whether it will be changed or not.

It's all over the UK front pages that it is though.

👍🏻 thanks, I was just double checking as I don’t want to miss it.

… and oh my my my…that Messi goal just now! smh

At first glance, it looked like he just casually ambled it in - although in reality, he was going at the speed of light. Amazing.

If the time of the match does get moved forwards on Sunday, it'll upset a lot of pub landlords/ladies.
The extension was till 5am, lots of pubs had prepared.

As you were - FIFA have done a U-turn and it's back to it's original 1am start.

Could be a long old night though if the storms do materialise and there are weather delays

Thanks again, Red wink

Just what I need though - more sleep deprivation 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t know about anyone else, but I couldn’t - just could not - stop watching that Argentina/Cabo Verde match!

As well as sleep deprivation if the locals try the same tactics they used on the Ecuador team - playing loud music and sounding horns outside the hotel at night to keep them awake.

That game will go down in World Cup folklore along with Belgium v Senegal. Edge of your seat stuff and Cabral's goal was a worldie.

I am really beginning to think that England's hardest game to making the final will be Mexico. Both Brazil and Argentina have looked off it.

If the final ends up being France v Argentina then I hope Argentina get battered, mostly because of their absolutely honking fanbase.

nod It really was! Even more masterful than Messi’s earlier goal, if such a thing were possible.

I‘m sensing a France/Argie final too. But I’d much prefer a France/England final (hey, fevered dreams cost nothing! 😂)

Might be a small mercy if we don't have to meet France in the final. I cannot see that going well for us cry

Canada v Morocco will be good tonight and it should be an easy win for Morocco. They are the best African nation team IMO and can give anyone a good run.

Cabral's celebration was one of the best I've ever seen, nothing rehearsed, just pure joy and disbelief at what he had just done.

When he ran up the stairs, the look on his face - he seemed completely disorientated and didn't seem to know where he was or what he was doing LoL

I saw that lol.  I think he thought his family were there, he couldn't see them.

OK, 4 people at that price in a nice restaurant makes more sense.

That heat shouldn't be a factor. The altitude is. Denver is considered a "high" city and Mexico City is 2000 feet higher than Denver. If the team had spent two weeks there, it wouldn't be much of a factor. Your body adapts but it takes time..

Also, my daughter was there a few months ago. She had some issues with either the pollution, dust or pollen. Probably pollution as the air quality is bad in Mexico City. So there's that to contend with too.

Canada were garbage 🥱

Morocco won, as Avon and Red predicted. But I don’t enjoy watching them as a team - a bit too rough, leg-stomping and ‘grabby’ snooty

🫪 … wow … and there was me thinking the Moroccans played dirty. These Paraguayans take aggression to a whole new level!

And the referee is completely useless 🙄 He seems to have practically lost control of the game.

Edit….and now the French are getting in on the act. With all the leg-kicking, tripping up and Swan Lake style diving & swooning, this match is farcical now 😂

To any football aficionados here - are England really as bad/cursed at taking penalties as public opinion in the past has claimed?
