Stockpiling...are you bothered?

I think I have a spare tin of soup and beans in the cupboard, some meat and fish  in the freezer, no water other than what comes out of the tap, and I haven't used actual cash for years....so to sum it up, I am not heeding government advice to be prepared for God knows what.

The link below lists recommendations of what to stockpile.

Who the heck has a wind up radio?? they sound like something out of the 1950's. I have two transistor radios that run off batteries. I have had them for ages, they still work brilliantly. Surely they are a more sensible option.

Lol...I also have lots of toilet rolls.

Since Covid and the panic buying on loo rolls, which I didn't participate in, it's odd, but I now have to have at least a spare packet of toilet rolls and also spare Jcloths, washing up liquid, soaps and  tissues.

If the worst comes to the worst, I may starve, but I will be clean. happy

I'm not worried but I wonder what you're government knows that we dont know.

The only thing I can think of is they are worried that Russia attacks a NATO country and NATO has to fight Vlad without US involvement.

We had one that was a weather/emergency radio when we had a hunting place. But that's been 30 years. Well before we had smartphones.

I think it was sold during my mother's estate sale for 50 cents..

Theres a real threat from Russia to France Germany Poland the UK I doubt it will come to anything though as Vlads just about washed out. Russia is huge but theres not much more than a dozen cities with over a million people in them so Russia is quite vulnerable. Vlad won't want to initiate a nuclear exchange with Europe because there goes not just his bleoved Russia but his daughter his family. I don't think it sits to easy with any of them destroying their own. I think he's on the verge of walking away... maybe I should say running away and vanishing off the face of the earth.

On top of the Russian uncertainty there's the fact that Europe and the UK have just had a summer without rain and then floods. The crop count is down. It's not just the UK telling people to stockpile... stockpiling is meant to prevent panic buying later. France, Germany, Hungary, and Spain are also down on agricultural output. France is probably the worst and is telling people to stockpile.

Then there's the biggest El Nino for many years. The last time we had a really big one in the 1890's it is estimated to have killed fifty million people around the world so stockpiling is looking very sensible just now.

All the forecasters are betting on Europe and more heading into a very hard winter with the U.K facing the hardest winter in a long long time.

Trump has doubled the price of deisel for this side of the Atlantic through his closure of the Straits of Hormuz. Everything you eat consumes deisel. It is also affecting the supply of tin for making cans. Cans need moving around a number of times. While they are sheet metal and once they become cans. Cans are becoming more and more expensive as everything is that relies on deisel. More or less everything relies on deisel. Supply chains of just about everything are now under huge strain causing ever more uncertainty. All these things are very real and are happening right this moment
It's easy to scoff now and cry later.

NATO can do it without Americans. Be harder but it can be done and we know the commonwealth countries will be there as they always have been. America have proved time and again they are rubbish at war.
